Steel also famous as”enviro-metal” – it is the world’s most recyclable material.
2/3 of steel are currently made from recyclable steel, and many of the produced products are returned to steel-mills as a valuable secondary raw material. Each recycled ton of steel will save 1300 kg of iron ore and 635 kg of coal. Only 1/3 of energy is consumed for the production of recyclable steel, compared with the production of new steel from ore.
Steel can be used again and again for the construction of other buildings and for other purposes.
Recycling of construction waste is one of the strategic tasks in the field of the environment not only in Slovakia but also at international level. Recycling of construction waste also brings considerable economic benefits to investors, since construction rubble arising from demolition work is up to 90% reusable in construction and is a full replacement of natural materials.
Economic benefits of recycling of construction waste:
- Saving costs for transport of construction waste to landfill
- Saving cost of landfill fees
- Saving cost of purchasing natural materials
- Saving costs for the transportation of natural materials
The product of recyclationis crushing of the materials from different fractions and character.
The waste which is produced in construction and demolition work process is transported to the recycling line. It is sorted and degraded in the recycling process. The resulting product depends on inputs, the nature of recycled waste.
